Solar System Gallery Walk OR Make BIG BOOKS for younger audiences
Students can make class big books about the solar system. Each student (or student pair) makes a large "poster" about one planet. Put the students or students pairs in groups enough that they are responsible for the entire solar system. You may have several solar system poster sets. Students must have a picture, facts and information, including material which others might find interesting. Hang up all the posters and do a gallery walk of each solor system. Each child reads every one's poster and then writes down facts they have learned about each planet. When the class finishes with their "travels," combine all of the posters and made the big books. These can be placed in your classroom library or could be provided to students in lower grades to use.
